Man Who Refuses to Evacuate Despite Taal Eruption, Says His Children Just Left Him Alone

Tatay Eusebio Cacao spent his entire life in Talisay, Batangas, and had witnessed the 1965 eruption of Taal Volcano but the recent unrest did not scare him off the area. But he pleads for his children to come and visit him, saying that they just left him alone as if he’s just a piece of clothing they just threw away!

In a video report shared by Abante TNT, Tatay Eusebio said that when the volcano erupted again last January 12, he didn’t evacuate because he didn’t think this one would be more dangerous the first one that he experienced.

According to Tatay Eusebio, he was just 15 years old when Taal Volcano erupted in 1965. It was night and everyone was scared as it rained fire from the sky. But now that he is 68 years old, the volcano only spewed ash and mud, not fire. So, he was not scared and felt that he does not have to evacuate because there’s no danger.

Asked whether he thought the volcano would still erupt and rain fire on the island and nearby areas, Tatay Eusebio said he does not think so as the recent eruption was ‘mild’. In 1965, the volcano only erupted once and sent that rain of fire, he said, but he thinks nothing similar would happen now because the volcano is simply spewing mud.

What he is more concerned of, however, is for his children to visit him. While he chose to stay at their home despite the evacuation warning, he calls for his children to visit him because he feels that they just threw him away like used clothes.

According to Tatay Eusebio, he has seven children; though he already lost one. But the six refused to see him again and don’t even ask whether he still has money for food. Living alone, he wishes they would visit him from time to time. He added that he even has a child now working in Japan but even that one does not send him some support.

The ‘Small but Terrible’ Taal Volcano

Taal Volcano might be small and seemingly harmless, but it is actually one of the 16 so-called “Decade Volcanoes” identified around the world for their dangerous eruptive histories. It is second most active volcano in the Philippines, with 34 recorded eruptions in history.

Heartbreaking Photos of Guard Just Eating Chips as Viand Breaks Hearts

Chips are considered as junk food with very low or zero nutritional value. And while many love to eat these as snacks, anyway, there are people who don’t have enough money to buy proper food that they use chips as viand.

Chips as Viand?

In photos shared by netizen Ralph Reymond Hermano Getanes, a security guard could be seen eating chips for what appears to be lunch or dinner. Getanes had spotted the guard eating the chips and was surprised, considering that the guard often goes on ‘straight duty’. That means that the guard works for several shifts.

Concerned, Getanes asked the guard why he is just eating chips as viand. The guard smiled and admitted that he did not have a lot of money because he is supporting a lot of people in Cotabato. Getanes pointed out that this is not right because the guard needs to have proper, nutritious food or he might get sick as he always goes on straight duty. But the guard admitted that he is used to this – and that means he’s been eating chips as viand for a long time! It breaks our hearts.

Wish for the Future

And while the guard is smiling, Getanes said that he understands his pain and what he is going through. The guard also told Getanes that he doesn’t mind and that he hopes when all the people he is supporting in Cotabato will complete their studies, he hopes he won’t be doing this anymore…

Facebook page Soul I Adventures reposted the photos, urging the family of this guard to understand the sacrifices he is making for them and to not waste the opportunity he is giving them.

Resident Shares Post-Eruption Photos of Taal Volcano That’s Now on Alert Level 2

The scenic greens of Taal Volcano are gone after the eruption in January 2020. But the residents are hopeful that, in time, the volcano would look so beautiful and lush with greenery again. And while that is not likely going to happen very soon, the grey world that it has become after the eruption also holds its eerie beauty.

Now that the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has lowered the alert level status of Taal Volcano to Alert Level 2, residents are going back to their homes. But they are advised to remain alert to the possibility of sudden eruptions. The volcanic island was also declared as a permanent danger zone. This means that no one will be allowed to live there again, for safety reasons.

But many residents still came back to the island to get whatever they could save from their homes, all of which have been covered with thick ash. Many of the homes have collapsed from the weight of the ash on the roof.

Photos of the Lake

A resident recently shared photos of the volcano, weeks after the eruption.

“Ang pag silip sa Mahal naming bulkan,” CJ Martinez posted on his Facebook account.

The desolate land covered with thick, grey ash looks like a setting from a sci-fi movie. The young man took photos of some craters, including one that was obviously the source of the recent eruption.

Scenes from Another Planet?

Though the lake lost its water during the eruption, it appears that the lake is back. But without the plants around it, it looks a bit scary. The scenes captured by CJ look like these places are from another planet.

There are yellow spots that appear to have sulfur deposits while an orange spot near the crater lake made netizens think this might be a small crater of magma.

Kuwaiti Employer Defends Married Pinay Who Got Pregnant with Egyptian BF’s Baby

married Pinay

Getting pregnant out of wedlock is something that is never acceptable in Kuwait and other parts of the Middle East, but one kind employer defends her Pinay domestic helper from the angry mob who “made up stories” about her on social media.

After she got pregnant, however, the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) identified as Gina was left by her Egyptian boyfriend who fled to his hometown in Egypt, never to be seen again. Too scared to tell her employers and more scared of her family, Gina chose to keep the pregnancy a secret.

Baby in ICU

Her employers had no idea that she was pregnant. She probably had a small stomach, anyway, and it was hidden beneath her voluminous clothes. Days leading to her giving birth of the child, Gina ran away. She did not say where she went but when she came back to her employer’s house, she was already carrying the baby.

What’s sad is that the baby had head injuries after she gave birth to it as it most likely fell on something hard – and there was no one to catch it. Poor kid.

Employer Defends Married Pinay

Instead of bringing her to the police station or the religious police, Gina’s kind employers rushed her to the hospital. They made sure that she and the baby are alright – and even cared for the child who is still in ICU over his injuries.

The married Pinay drew criticism for having a boyfriend in Kuwait, particularly because she has a family back in the Philippines. There were people who made up stories about her employers being unkind to her, but her Madam would speak to the camera and defend the Pinay as well as themselves from the stories circulating on social media.

Here’s the video:
