But in a post on Raffy Tulfo supporters, a more candid video of Yorme was shared – and it made a lot of people laugh and praise him some more. In the video, the mayor was happily talking about the billboard that’s now up at EDSA. He joked that people would soon grow tired of his face because they will see it all the time, what with the traffic situation at EDSA. LOL.

Yet even as he happily shares his thoughts about the billboard, the mayor jokingly ‘bragged’ about being a model now. More importantly, though, he shares an update on the money that’s involved in him accepting the offer to be the brand’s latest endorser.

It can be recalled that Yorme Isko told JAG Jeans to send his talent fee (Php1 million) directly to the PGH’s children’s ward as his donation to the sick kids battling serious conditions. Upon learning that the mayor is doing this, the owner of JAG Jeans promised to match the donation and also give Php1 million to the PGH.

What’s amazing is that the owner did not only give his Php1 million as promised, he also asked his siblings to give Php1 million each – and they agreed! The family gave a total of Php6 million.Wow.

Cops Contribute Own Money to Build House for Old Woman Who Lived in Ramshackle Home

Sometimes, cops are seen as the bad guys who use their authority to make others feel afraid of their power. But there are also lots of news about cops doing good deeds that go beyond their call of duty.

On Facebook page I Love PNP, photos of several policemen working on the house of a 98-year-old lady went viral. Many netizens were impressed that these amazing policemen are doing this for the old woman, without asking for anything in return.

It all started when the story of Lola Celerina Ibus Villa of Brgy. Labut, Badoc Ilocos Norte went viral. Someone found her living in a ramshackle 2-story wooden house that appears to be falling apart. The house looks like it is about to fall down any minute – and the old lady is left there by herself, most of the time.

She has two sons, but both are also very old and don’t have families of their own. Thus, the three are living in a difficult situation. They don’t even get to eat three meals a day due to poverty. But netizens were also quite concerned about their house, particularly because it could break apart and fall on them anytime.

After learning of Lola Celerina’s plight, police officers from Badoc Patrolbase, 101st Maneuver Company, RMFB1, Police Regional Office 1 contributed money to have enough funds to buy construction materials for Lola Celerina’s house. Then, they actually worked hands on to help build the house for the old lady! Isn’t that awesome?

ALS Passer Surprises Everyone as She Tops September 2019 LET

The Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E) Test has given a lot of out-of-school youth a second chance to go back to school and catch up on their education so they won’t have to go back to Grade 1 or the last grade they were in when they quit school.

While many don’t think that ALS passers would have a good chance of succeeding in life because they skipped a lot of levels in formal education, one of them proved that this notion is not true at all!

Kezia Keren Ambag was not able to go through all the levels of formal education, but she managed to catch up with her peers and go to college after passing the ALS test. With a passion for inspiring young people to think about their future, Kezia enrolled in Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) at Philippine Normal University – Mindanao, located in Agusan del Sur.

She went on to graduate with flying colors, completing the degree as Cum Laude!

From what people might think as a lowly ALS graduate, Kezia excelled to become an honor student. But her achievements did not stop there. This young lady would continue to inspire many people after she topped the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), Elementary Level.

Along with two other topnotchers who garnered the same score, Kezia passed the September 2019 LET with a score of 92.60%. If you think that’s not impressive enough, the Elementary Level of September 2019 LET actually had 92,440 takers!

As Kezia and thousands of other passers rejoiced after seeing their names in the roll of board exam passers released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), this humble young lady thanked the Lord for helping her pass the test. But Mercedes Arzadon, Assistant Professor at UP College of Education, would share Kezia’s impressive story as she went from ALS passer to board exam topnotcher!

What is ALS?

In the Philippines, those who are not able to graduate from elementary or high school are invited to take the ALS test, previously called the Non-formal Education A&E Test. The test measure the competencies of those who were not able to attend or did not finish elementary or secondary education in the formal school system.

Through the ALS test, ALS passers are given a certificate or diploma that certifies their competencies as graduates of the formal school system. This allows them to enroll in secondary schools and college, without going back to the levels they missed out on.

Tulfo Reporter Cries as They Extend Help to Determined PWD Student

He has various difficulties, particularly with his sight and in walking, but for Christian Ammay from Quirino Province, this is not a hindrance for him to go to school. Determined to improve his life and help his family, this young man sought the help of Raffy Tulfo so he could continue with his studies.

According to Christian, he’s a 2nd year Bachelor of Science in Office Administration student at Quirino State University. He’s already 30 years old, but Christian is determined to finish his studies. However, he finds that difficult to do because his eyesight makes it extra difficult for him to study.

Severely myopic, Christian’s last eye grades were -600 then -800, but he could barely read using the -800 glasses now. With his family being very poor, Christian knew his last resort is going to Raffy Tulfo in Action to ask for help. Thanks to a high school teacher, Erlito Balcita-Madriaga, who gave him money for fare, Christian was able to reach TV5.

After talking with Tulfo, Christian was brought to an eye specialist who got him a new pair of eyeglasses. Since Christian has a very high eye grade, he needs special eyeglasses with dual vision – the lower part is for reading while the upper part is to help him see objects from afar.

Christian’s friends and teachers expressed admiration over his determination to learn despite his condition. They shared how he is so determined to study, even if that means asking the teachers for copies of the lecture notes because he could not keep up with the lessons as he could barely see what’s written on the board.
