Lalyn Sotto, a 53-year-old housewife from Quezon City, wants to get her niece from her boyfriend, but though they went to the Barangay to seek for help and settle the matter, the young girl and her boyfriend were really so hard-headed.

According to Lalyn, her niece “Judy Ann” is a 15-year-old Grade 8 student who ran away with her 19-year-old boyfriend Alex Separa. They kept trying to tell the girl to focus on her studies and leave Alex for her own good, but the boyfriend keeps on following her to school.

Judy Ann’s mother, Jesusa Deduro Ubales, works as overseas Filipino worker (OFW). She feels devastated that she could not take care of her own children while she takes care of her employers’ kids. Now that Judy Ann is living with her boyfriend, Jesusa insists that Lalyn should find ways to make the girl go home so she could finish her studies.

The girl does not listen to her mother, her aunt, or even her father, Arcenio Ubales. Even after an agreement was reached at the Barangay Hall, the young couple refused to listen.

On Tulfo’s show, Lalyn narrated everything that happened and what they tried to do. The broadcaster gave fatherly advice to the girl, telling her that her boyfriend could be in legal trouble if they continue seeing each other because she’s a minor. He also told her that it was proper for her to live with her boyfriend at her age.

Thankfully, the young girl finally listened; however, to make sure that this won’t happen again, they brought all parties to the Barangay Hall to once again settle the matter and to make them sign an agreement.

What is a Barangay Lupon?

The Barangay Justice System in the Philippines has a Lupon Tagapamayapa headed by the barangay captain and selected barangay residents who settle disputes and other matters. This system was implemented to help decongest regular courts as these smaller conflicts might still be resolved at the barangay level.

Teacher Seeks Help for Mountain School with Dilapidated Classrooms but Diligent Students

A teacher is seeking help from netizens and the government to improve a mountain school that has dilapidated classrooms they can only access after a 6-hour trek up and down several mountains, passing muddy roads and crossing some streams.

Renalyn Agcaoili Rivera shared some videos of the roads she and her fellow teacher have to trek just to reach Pindangan Indigenous Peoples Elementary School in the mountains of Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija.

It takes about 6 hours for the teachers to reach the school; the students also walk at around a similar time frame as their houses are also far away.

But Rivera was impressed that the students rarely skip a day in school because they are all willing to learn.

A check with the Department of Education (DepEd) shows that the school, with ID number 128986, actually offers Kindergarten to Grade 6 as of School Year 2018-2019, based the Division Memorandum No. 239 s. 2018 by the Schools Division of Nueva Ecija.

However, in the video shared by Rivera, there are only two classrooms in the dilapidated school. The classrooms did not even have a door or proper windows, the floors are made of soil, and the broken chairs are too few for the students.

Rivera and her co-teacher, a certain Sir Jerwin, have to walk many hours to reach the school. But their sacrifices don’t end there as they have to provide education to these students despite the limited resources they have. Many of the kids have to sit on the ground because the chairs are too few.

But Rivera said that the students were eager to learn and even love to go to school despite the lack of facilities. This led her to seek help through her videos.

There’s nothing much that they can do about the muddy roads and the difficult, dangerous paths she and her co-teacher had to pass to reach the school. However, she is hoping that donations could help improve the school and provide enough chairs plus other facilities for the children.

The woman went viral after she refused to delete her dummy Facebook account, giving many excuses that made her husband think she is not sincere in promising she will change for him.

When Rudyard went back to Tulfo, Melita faced him this time. She tried to convince her husband that they settle the matter, urging him to accept the baby she had with another man – and she would never do it again.

But Rudyard has had enough, saying that after their story was aired, some neighbors told him that his wife had been with other guys even before this one he caught her with. They even claimed that the two older children are not actually his children, leading Tulfo to offer to have all the children undergo DNA test for paternity.

Yet this grief-stricken husband had more secrets to spill, saying that many people came forward to help him after the story went viral.

His wife’s coworkers at RTD Hotel where she works as receptionist claimed that she checked in at the hotel many times with her boyfriend, taking advantage of the privileges the hotel offers to its workers. She did not deny this.

Towards the end of the video, she tries her best to beg for Rudyard’s love but he seems too angry to accept her again. Even her son appears to not like her, with the kid seemingly just messing up with her hair but didn’t even try to hug her. Even Tulfo had to comment on how her son reacts to her.

Woman Asks Help to Get Kids from Ex-Partner, Tulfo Refuses She Badmouths Her Mom

Raffy Tulfo is known for helping many people who go to his program every day, connecting families and saving those that needed to be saved. But sometimes draws the line on those who go to program thinking they could outwit him.

Recently, he rejected one woman who sought help in getting her kids back, but later badmouthed her mother.

Alma Ularte went to Tulfo for help in getting her children from her former partner, Danilo Bantang. The kids are in Cavite, she said; they are 7 and 5 years old.

But things got complicated when Tulfo talked to her former partner. The latter argued that he only got the kids to protect them from their mother who invites another man to their house. While Tulfo sided with Alma at first because, technically, she can accept a suitor since she’s not married to Danilo, he frowned upon learning that this new guy, Enrico, has 6 children.

Moreover, Enrico’s partner allegedly went to Alma’s house to make her stop seeing the guy. Considering that this could further complicate the children’s lives, Tulfo said he’d simply turn over the matter to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Karen Alanis of DSWD Trece Martires, Cavite said that they would conduct a home visit to determine which home would be better for the children, particularly because both parties claim different things.

Tulfo was willing to tell his staff to accompany Alma to the DSWD to file a report, but things would take a turn for worse when they talked to her mother, Wilma Ularte. Alma said that her parents knew about Danilo being married and had received money from him, but this was denied by Nanay Wilma.

But Tulfo got angry when the old lady cried after Alma said she made them work at age 10 to get their money, yet Nanay Wilma said it was only because her earnings as laundrywoman could not pay for all the medicines of her sickly husband.

When the old lady cried, saying that Alma wished her ill and cursed her many times, Tulfo made the younger woman leave the studio. He also withdrew any offer for help and asked forgiveness from the old woman for her daughter’s bad behavior…

What Age Can Kids Choose with Whom to Go?

When relationships turn sour, the kids are often the ones caught in the crossfires. While kids below 7 years old automatically go to the mother, unless there’s probable cause for the father or other relatives to have custody, children 7 years old and above have the right to choose with whom they would go to if their family breaks apart.
