Student Receives Help after Teacher Posts Her Heartbreaking Apology Letter

In the Philippines, there are actually tens of thousands of students who don’t go to school because of poverty. While public schools are supposedly free, many parents still could not afford to buy uniforms, shoes, and school supplies for their children; many can’t also afford to give them ‘baon’ (allowance) for fare and food.

Nueva Ecija is among the provinces in the country with the highest poverty incidences. Data from the 2015 survey of the Philippine Statistics Authority showed that most Nueva Ecijans are only high school graduates, followed by elementary. Not too many have graduated from college, even in vocational courses.

Last Monday, teacher Christian Jay Padilla Ordoña of Bongabon National High School in Baranggay Sinipit, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija shared a photo of a student’s heartbreaking excuse letter.

According to the teacher, the student was from his advisory class. He knew the student was absent because advisers usually handle the first period and this student was not there. After lunch, though, he met the student who shyly went to him and handed him a note.

The then-unnamed student wrote:

Dear Sir Jay,

[name redacted]

His heart broke. He shared the heartbreaking note on Facebook and it would soon go viral. Many netizens felt sad that this kid had to be absent because he/she did not have baon. Perhaps the student had to catch a ride to school, so a baon is important.

After the post went viral, several people sent help to the student.

Days after he made the first post, Sir Jay finally shared the student’s photo and identity to thank those who sent donations so she never has to go absent for lack of baon again.

Teacher Jay and the student, Marinel, thank the donors because she can now go to school every day. Thanks to the kind-hearted donors! God bless you all!

Both deliveries were safe. LOL

But what happens if the delivery date falls on a special occasion or the receiver is busy?

Well, one postman interrupted a wedding to deliver a package to the bride a couple of years ago.

Recently, another delivery rider went viral for a similar reason – but the delivery was made even more hilarious because he went to the lying-in clinic (similar to a hospital’s delivery room) to deliver a package to a pregnant woman in labor.

It’s a funny play with words that got netizens laughing.

Noreen Anne Princess Tiempo shared the photos of the J&T delivery rider who also took some photos of the pregnant woman as proof of delivery.

While many netizens are laughing over the photos, many also wish that all delivery riders are as dedicated as this one.

Kuya ikaw nlg mag dliver dto samin. lentik kasi ibang rider. RTS agad pag di nasagot tawag,” one of them wrote.

Others had fun suggesting names for the baby.

Some suggestions include “Parcel,” “Shopee May,” and combinations suitable for the nickname “J&T.” LOL

Mom Shares Hilarious Photo of Kids Sleeping on the Floor While Cat Uses Bed

A mom shares a hilarious photo of her kids sleeping on the floor while their cat uses the bed. You certainly know who’s the boss in this house, right? LOL

Hilarious Photo Shows Kids on Floor While Cat Uses Bed

Pets such as cats and dogs enjoy varied privileges in different homes. While many dogs are left outside the house, others are also allowed to be inside and even sleep in their owner’s bedrooms.

Other pets have their own beds, while others share the beds with their owners.

But in the house of fur mom Maricris Mararac of Trece Mariteres, Cavite, it’s an entirely different story. Like in other homes, their cat sleeps on their bed – but her kids are the ones who sleep on the floor! Oooops. Did the rules change, somehow?

Maricris captioned a photo she posted on social media.

She explained that they adopted the now 2-year-old cat, named Anyo, during the pandemic. They found him as a kitten in the streets and took him home.

But the stray cat would soon become a huge part of their family – and the real king inside her kids’ bedroom. LOL.

Pinoy Kid Becomes Chess Champion, After Sleeping at Airport for 3 Days Due to Budget Issues

A Pinoy kid becomes the chess champion at an international competition despite the hardships he faced, including 1) sleeping at the airport due to lack of funds and 2) flying to Thailand without his dad who arrived much later than he did.

Pinoy Kid Becomes Chess Champion

Another fine example is the Pinoy kid how recently became the chess champion at an international competition in Thailand.

Bince Rafael Operiano won the championship, going home with the trophy and four medals at the 6th Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand last November 4-12, 2022.

Yet his journey wasn’t an easy one.

Sleeping at the Airport, Traveling without Dad

Due to limited funds and while waiting for the plane ticket sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission, Bince and his father spent three nights at the airport with those benches as their bed,” shared Albay 3rd District Representative Fernando Cabredo.

The little boy had to travel first to Thailand without his father, Mr. Ben Operiano.

With the hardships the boy faced, it wasn’t surprising that he was seen crying during the first day of the competition.

He even lost to his opponents that day. But it was a good thing he wasn’t eliminated.

Bince braved the first game with no parent around to cheer him on. He felt pressured and lost to his opponents in the first games,” the congressman added.

From then on, Bince won the succeeding rounds and eventually made it to the top.

Inspired when his dad finally arrived, the kid steadily rose up the ranks and became the champion in the competition.
