Stranger Pays for Friends’ Meal after Hearing Their Conversation

A stranger pays for friends’ meal after hearing their conversation, leaving them a note that she was blessed by what she heard. This woman didn’t even introduce herself or make her actions known until the friends got their bill. Wow.

Friends Receive Free Meal from Strangers

When dining out at a public place, it’s normal for other people to hear what you’re talking about or doing with the others on your table.

That’s really not an invasion of privacy since you’re out in a public place.

While many people are uncomfortable in such situations, it can sometimes lead to something good – such as a friends’ meal being paid for by the stranger who overheard them talking.

Atty. Nico Niklaus shared that he was dining with his friend, Julz Sebastian, at LaCreperie in Shangri-la Plaza Mall when this happened.

In a post that has gone viral on Facebook, Niklaus wrote that they were discussing about the Vision Board, their plans for 2023, and how to manifest.

Sebastian was curious how Niklaus finds it easy to manifest and attract what he wants.

The lawyer mentioned a Bible verse, citing Mark 11:24 about how you ask anything in prayer and actually believe that YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT. Then, it will be yours.

He added that the Bible verse didn’t just say “believe that you will receive it.” Instead, it says “believe that you have received it.”

The friends noticed that the woman at the other table was listening in to their conversation because she would sometimes glance and smile at them.

They also noticed that the woman hurriedly called the server, but didn’t really hear whatever the woman had said. The server hurried to the cashier.

After that, the friends had forgotten about the stranger as they continued their conversation, talking about anything and everything.

When Niklaus asked for the bill, however, he was surprised to find a table napkin with a message inside the holder.

Your presence blessed me today. 🙂 Proverbs 11:25. I hope you pass on the kindness. God bless,” the note read.

They didn’t understand at first. Niklaus thought that the message was from the Assistant Manager.

So, he asked the server for their bill again – and was told that their meal had been paid by the woman from the other table. However, she was no longer there and they couldn’t find her at the mall.

What is Proverbs 11:25?

The friends searched for what the Bible verse the woman wrote, and found that this what Proverbs 11:25 is about:

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

Feeding Program in Schools

Some schools have a feeding program, sometimes funded by the government but others are provided by the teachers or the parents need to contribute and prepare food for the students.

Considering the sheer volume of students in public schools, however, many of these feeding programs don’t last long unless the parents or teachers can continue covering the expenses.

There are also government-funded feeding programs but in many places, these are only available for a limited number of learners.

First Aeta to Pass Criminology Board Exams, Plans to Join Police Force

The first Aeta to pass the Criminology board exams plans to join the police force – and everyone’s cheering him on.

His feat even got the governor’s attention.

Aeta Passes Criminology Board Exams

The Aeta community is celebrating the win of Dexter Santos Valenton, a 23-year-old guy who recently passed the Criminology Board Exam conducted by the PRC (Professional Regulation Commission).

A resident of Barangay San Ramon in Floridablanca town, Pampanga, the young Aeta is believed to be the first to pass the Criminology board exams.

Gov. Dennis Pineda said that Valenton might also be the first member of the indigenous community, not just the Aeta community, to be part of the police force in their province.

The chief of the provincial social welfare and development office, Elizabeth Baybayan, also confirmed the young Aeta’s achievement.

We have many Aeta who passed the licensure exam for teachers. Dexter was the first to pass the criminology exam,” she explained.

Like many Aetas, Valenton’s family hardly had enough money to send him to school. They were farmers but were deep in debt from traders, known as sakadoras, and have nine children to send to school and feed.

But these challenges didn’t stop Valenton from dreaming of becoming a policeman – even if that means walking for hours so he can attend his classes in elementary and high school.

He was able to go to college, thanks to the provincial government’s scholarship program.

When he finally graduated from college, he still had another hurdle because he needed to pass the Criminology board exams. Thankfully, the governor also shouldered the review fees plus his board and lodging expenses.

I am elated. My only goal was to pass, but I am being praised for bringing honor to the Aeta [community],” he told the Inquirer.

His plan now is to become a policeman so he can help his tribe and his family.

Who are the Aetas?

The Aetas are the aborigines or the original people that inhabited the Philippines. They are considered the first migrants to the Philippines, having done so during the last glacial period or around 20,000 years ago.

This was when the land bridges appeared after the sea level sank nearly 100 meters.
