Parking Lot Stand-off Sparks Mixed Reactions after Ladies Stand to ‘Reserve’ Slot

Is it alright to stand on a parking spot to ‘reserve’ the slot even if your companion’s vehicle is not yet around? A lot of people think so, but this practice is dangerous and unethical. In short, it should not be done!

Recently, a parking lot stand-off outside an SM store had netizens shaking their heads and giving out mixed reactions.

Mary Grace D. Holdermann shared a video of the ladies in question, saying it all started when a woman in green blouse stood on a spot at the parking space and refused to go away even when their vehicle was already backing up on the space.

The unnamed woman held her ground, shouting at the driver not to back up on her yet refusing to move. For this woman, their vehicle had the right to park on that slot because she got there first. However, her vehicle was still not around – and it had been minutes since she had stood there, yet the vehicle was nowhere in sight.

According to Holdermann, she decided to videotape the woman because the latter had done it first. The woman would alternate calling someone on her phone and taking a video of the vehicle backing up on her ‘reserved’ spot.

Seeking help from the security guard turned out to be useless because the guy told them they would all be asked to get out of that spot if they won’t try to find a way to settle the matter amicably. Holdermann explained that although the woman got there first, they have the right to park there because their vehicle was already there.

But the guard doesn’t want trouble, saying they should all just go away. Two ladies soon arrived to help the first woman out, yet their vehicle still had not arrived!

Eventually, the women went away, but they angrily told Holdermann and the guard that they did so because they are understanding, unlike Holdermann and her family who could not understand the situation they were in.

#ManilaBayChallenge Trends on Various Social Media Sites

The #ManilaBayChallenge trends on various social media sites, with netizens showing a lot of creativity as they shared hilarious pictures.

#ManilaBayChallenge Trends

Last week, netizens flooded social media with angry posts about the crushed dolomite rocks that were dumped along the shores of Manila Bay as part of the beautification project. Many think that the crushed dolomite, passed off as white sand, is not a good thing to put on that spot.

But others disagreed, saying that the new look of the Manila Bay, whether due to crushed dolomite rocks or real white sand, is so much better than when it was covered with lots of trash.

On Sunday, authorities temporarily opened the portion with the white sand so people can admire its beauty. Soon, however, things got out of hand as thousands flocked to the spot to take photos, without thought of social distancing.

Considering that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rage, many were alarmed to see so many people taking photos of the white beach, with many not even wearing face masks. The SWAT had to be called in to make people follow the rules but it was clear that so many hard-headed folks had flocked to the spot.

Photos of the tightly packed crowd quickly went viral.

But netizens soon found a hilarious way to use these photos as the #ManilaBayChallenge went viral. Using photos of the crowd, netizens jokingly added their own beach photos and claimed that these people were taking their photos. LOL.

The posts are quite creative, with many sharing some of their most beautiful beach pictures while others picked the funnies ones.

Kid Orders Snacks from Uncle’s Phone, But Shipping Fee is Higher than Snack Price

A kid orders snacks from his uncle’s phone, but the latter was surprised after learning about the order, especially because the shipping fee is higher than the actual snack price! Ouch.

Online Shopping

These days, it is easy for us to buy virtually anything and everything online! There are shops that offer various stuff, ranging from food and items you need at home to big ticket items such as cars and real estate. You can actually buy your own private plane or even your own private island through online transactions.

But food is among the primary items bought online, especially during the COVID-19 crisis when everyone is forced to stay at home to avoid contracting the virus.

With kids being so tech-savvy these days, one managed to order some snacks on his uncle’s phone. The latter was rather shocked when a rider arrived at their house with the order, only for him to discover that his nephew bought something online – and the shipping fee is much higher than the actual item price. LOL.

Netizen Andrew Pascual shares some photos taken from his online shopping app, showing what his nephew had ordered: a small pack of Oishi Pillows worth Php8. The kid bought only 1 pack of the choco-filled crackers.

Perhaps the little boy was craving for some snacks but there are no sari-sari stores nearby or perhaps he really just wanted to eat Oishi Pillows at the time. But the kid had no idea how online shopping works and that there’s a delivery fee for the item he bought.

So, imagine Andrew’s surprise when the rider arrived with the boy’s order. The snack costs just Php8 but the delivery fee is Php69! Whew.

Note: Huwag ipalaro yung cellphone mo sa pamangkin mo 😑,” Andrew advised.

Netizens had a good laugh over Andrew’s experience, but told him he is still lucky that the kid only ordered some cheap snacks.

Enjoy!” another commented.

How to Avoid Kids’ Accidental Online Shopping Orders

If you let kids use your phone, make sure to logout from online shopping apps and other apps that involve any money or you might be in for a big surprise.

Another option is to hide the apps in a folder; though that’s not fail-safe as kids could still find the app inside the folders! Logging out of the account is still the best option.

Netizen Shares Impressive Room Transformation as Quarantine Project

A netizen shares the impressive room transformation he did as quarantine project – and the results are simply amazing! The room went from an ordinary one to something that you can truly be proud of having as your room. It’s even comparable to ones on glossy home magazines.

Quarantine Project

Netizen Nelo Coloma shared that he always feels amazed every time he enters a hotel room. Because his room at home is really just simple, he had always wished to have a comfortable and nice room to live in.

With that in mind, he always tells himself that one day he will also have a room like that. It might not be the same as a hotel room, but it would at least be something that looks almost like one.

In a series of photos, Coloma shared that before the transformation, he did not mind what curtain his mom would put on the window as long as it keeps the light out. Perhaps he works on a night shift so he has to sleep at day time.

The room was quite disorganized, with things scattered here and there. His clothes are hung on a rack and the room looks rather drab.

At first, he thought of just painting the room on his own but realized that is actually hard work. So, he hired some guys to help him out. First, a white base coat was placed on the walls. Then, most of the walls were painted in dark grayish blue. One side is left in white for effect. The ceiling was also painted in white.

The lights were replaced and mood lights were also added around the room. Instead of tiles, the floor was covered with a nice carpet. The bed was topped with a comforter and some artwork were added on the walls.

A flat-screen TV now occupies one wall and other lovely furniture pieces were added in the room. It’s amazing that the space looks so much different than it had been before, with just some paint and finishing touches! Wow.

DIY Home Renovation

Home renovation projects can be quite expensive, but you could be wasting more money if you do it yourself and you actually have no idea how to do things. It would be a good idea to research on what design you want to copy or make for your house.

Consult an expert, if possible, and hire people to work on more difficult tasks like painting (especially ceilings!) and doing carpentry or masonry work.
