Netizens Call for Removal of Grab Food ‘Cancel Order’ after Another Rider Loses Money

Netizens are calling for the removal of the ‘Cancel Order’ button on Grab Food after another rider loses money for a large ‘barkada’ order. The customer changed his/her mind and pressed the button after the rider had actually placed the order!

Jay Mark Pascual Bercasio shared a photo of the unnamed Grab Food rider whom he had seen as he was treating himself to picha pie at SM Bicutan. The rider asked to share a seat at Bercasio’s table but was soon agitated after learning the customer had canceled the order – but he had already paid for it at the store!

The rider shared that the money would have been for his baby’s diapers and vitamins but now he is left with a lot of food, with no one to deliver it to! Bercasio got angry at whoever the customer had been and called for the removal of the ‘Cancel Order’ button to prevent such things from happening again.

Others are also calling for stricter measures to ensure the riders won’t lose a lot of money due to impatient customers by possibly linking customers’ social media accounts to their Grab Food accounts or making them pay for the items online so they won’t cancel the order.

What is Grab Food?

These days, there really are so many convenient ways to do things – and all these are due to the ready availability of cellphones and the internet. For example, you don’t have to leave the comforts of your home to do a lot of things like shopping, ordering food, and even earning a degree or buying real estate!

Grab Food has given many people an easy way to enjoy their favorite food from their preferred restaurants without leaving their homes.

Riders for the company are hired to buy the food (often out of their own pocket) and deliver this at the customers’ home. In some places, they might also receive money from the company as capital for the food delivery, on the premise that this is paid up at the end of the shift.

What’s sad, however, is that impatient customers change their minds and cancel the order because the rider was ‘too slow’ and didn’t bring their food on time. But the reality is that the riders don’t have full control of the time the restaurants are able to prepare the food and get this ready for the Grab Food rider to deliver!

“Manok na Pula”, Taken from Someone Else? Original Composer Seeks Help from Raffy Tulfo

The parody song “Manok na Pula” is one of the most popular songs since 2018, up to now, in the Philippines. But someone sought the help of Raffy Tulfo, claiming that he wrote the original lyrics and the YouTube vlogger just got it from him! Uh-oh…

Joemarie Torillo, a 47-year-old security guard from Bacolod City, went to Raffy Tulfo in Action for help against Vic Desucatan who went viral for the funny song “Manok na Pula”.

The funny song tells the story of how a guy was asked by his wife to send money to Palawan, an allusion to Palawan Pawnshop, a pawnshop that also offers money remittance. But on his way to the pawnshop, the husband passed by a cockpit and saw a red rooster (manok na pula) that he thought looks so good it might actually win.

So, the husband put all his money in his bet on that red rooster, thinking this is his chance to double his money. But moments later, the strong and brave-looking rooster lost the fight – and the      husband also lost all his money! Uh-oh. So, he sang the “Manok na Pula” as he tells the story.

Torillo claimed that he drew inspiration from his neighbors. He shared that he had neighbors back in Bacolod City who often fought because the husband keeps losing their money at the cockpit. Then, when he moved to Manila, he had a driver neighbor also loves cockfights; each time he loses, he would tell his wife that he was held up and had lost his money to the thieves. LOL.

But while Torillo wrote the lyrics of the song, the melody is actually something that’s copyrighted by Anne Murray, “Just Another Woman in Love”.

Desucatan apologized to Torillo, admitting that he just made a parody from the song. Tulfo made them do a duet! Because Desucatan didn’t earn money from the video, even with 14M views due to the copyright issue, Tulfo suggested he make “Manok na Puti” with his own lyrics and melody…

American BF Visits Adora’s Wake, Shows Php3M House that Burned Down to Tulfo’s Team

Netizens following the story of kind American RJ Russel and his girlfriend Adora Ramos were surprised when he still wanted to go to her wake, despite the possibility of encountering problems with the family. He’s being blamed over what she did to ‘solve’ her problems because he went to Raffy Tulfo for help.

But RJ was determined to go, to pay his last respects to the woman who had been part of his life – even if she scammed him big time.

In La Union, RJ showed Tulfo’s team the house that burned down last May 23. The concrete posts and beams plus one wall were all that’s left of the house on the 671 sq m property. It was worth Php3 million, but the family was unable to save anything from that building.

RJ shared that the structure to the left of the house, still intact and not included in the fire, is a bike shop that they planned to the combine with their home. Meanwhile, the house they had lived in actually had a convenience store and eatery, plus a garage filled with nothing but drinks.

Before heading to where Adora’s wake is held, the team bought flowers. They also passed by the police station to request for escorts; the police readily provided assistance. While they were allowed inside the house, the Tulfo team was requested not to take videos inside, to let the family grieve in private.

In talks with the family, the team learned that they also had no idea about the troubles she and RJ were facing, and that they didn’t also know where her money went. In the note she left at the bathroom door, she vowed that she didn’t have another man or spent the money in casinos. However, she also didn’t tell where the money went.

Taking pity on Adora’s children whom he also considers as his own, RJ promised to stay and provide comfort as much as he could. He also wants to provide for their education at the private school they are studying at, as well as other things they might need.

The police advised him, however, to stay away from the family for a while as they might still be angry at him over what happened to Adora – despite that not being his fault!

Private Versus Public School

The government provides public schools wherein students can study for free, while private schools are owned by private individuals or company and charge tuition plus other fees. A lot of parents who can afford to send their kids to private schools choose to do it under the notion that private schools provide better education than public schools. However, a lot of students who graduated from public schools still lived successful lives as adults.

Yorme Isko Tries to Clean Graffiti in Manila, Angrily Schools Vandals

Cleaning up Manila is one of the major goals of Mayor Francisco “Yorme Isko Moreno” Domagoso when he started his term, but there are still a lot of things that needs to be done to make the city clean – and to keep it clean!

Recently, an angry Yorme Isko tried to clean the graffiti written at a telecom box near Manila City Hall. Using paint thinner, the mayor scrubbed on the graffiti as best as he could, but the made very little difference on the surface.

As he scrubbed the surface of the telecom box, trying his best to clean up the structure, he angrily schools the vandals who are making the city dirty with their writings. He asked whether they are happy with what they are doing and if they really want their elected public officials to spend more time cleaning the city instead of focusing on things like providing medicines to sick people as well as working to provide homes for the poor.

Yorme Isko also pointed out that in cleaning these vandalized places, the local officials are using taxpayers’ money on cleaning materials and paint thinners – money that could gave been used to buy medicines and other much-needed items!

The mayor also asked the vandals if they really think, in all honesty, that their graffiti looks like art because the reality is that they are simply making the place look dirty.

Netizens praised the mayor for what he’s doing but said that everyone else should do their part to help out.
