Inspiring Pinay Who Told Photographer Not to Edit Fats from Photos Goes Viral

These days, it is easy to look beautiful for photos – that’s thanks to smartphone apps and filters you can use while taking the pictures or editing software that can process the pictures after you take them. Editing photos has become so easy that even young kids and non-techie adults can do it in a flash.

But one Pinay woman recently went viral after she asked the photographer at a photoshoot to not edit her fats out from the pictures! In short, she wants to appear as natural as she could in the photos, even if that meant some of the pictures showed her with a ‘bulging’ tummy.

Martina Gozun shared some of her pictures on Twitter and the post quickly went viral.

I asked Miguel to not edit my fats. I love how my body is right now and I never want to go back to that toxic mentality na I need to have a flat tummy to look good. It was toxic for me I’m not sure lng sainyo ah but yeah grateful lng share ko lng 🙂

As expected, the post was embraced by netizens who loved that this young lady is not ashamed of her body fats.

The thing is, people tend to judge us about our flaws. It’s like that’s all they ever notice.  I just wanted them to know that I know my flaws and I totally accept them [because] THEY’RE TRUE and I don’t find anything wrong with that. Recently, I’ve been using captions about my flaws so people will stop telling me about it as well. It’s better to hear it from me than them spreading hate,” Gozun shared to WHEN IN MANILA.

According to Gozun, she had acne and had to go to different dermatologists just to get rid of it; however, she still gets it from time to time. She also shared that she dreamed of becoming a model and went on strict diets, skipping meals to achieve the perfect 24-inch waistline but realized she had only been building a toxic mindset for herself.

Reality always wins, believe me. I realize that it is okay to be flawed. Your happiness will always look for those unfiltered moments. Try to observe your everyday life and I swear you’ll breathe better being that happy and no negative vide type of day. The moment you start comparing, that’s when you start to think less of yourself – and it’s a continuous cycle,” she added.

‘Braso’ De Mercedes ?✌?

Now that she has accepted her body for what it is, fats and all, not only is she happy with her choices, netizens also admired her for it!

Kid Orders Snacks from Uncle’s Phone, But Shipping Fee is Higher than Snack Price

A kid orders snacks from his uncle’s phone, but the latter was surprised after learning about the order, especially because the shipping fee is higher than the actual snack price! Ouch.

Online Shopping

These days, it is easy for us to buy virtually anything and everything online! There are shops that offer various stuff, ranging from food and items you need at home to big ticket items such as cars and real estate. You can actually buy your own private plane or even your own private island through online transactions.

But food is among the primary items bought online, especially during the COVID-19 crisis when everyone is forced to stay at home to avoid contracting the virus.

With kids being so tech-savvy these days, one managed to order some snacks on his uncle’s phone. The latter was rather shocked when a rider arrived at their house with the order, only for him to discover that his nephew bought something online – and the shipping fee is much higher than the actual item price. LOL.

Netizen Andrew Pascual shares some photos taken from his online shopping app, showing what his nephew had ordered: a small pack of Oishi Pillows worth Php8. The kid bought only 1 pack of the choco-filled crackers.

Perhaps the little boy was craving for some snacks but there are no sari-sari stores nearby or perhaps he really just wanted to eat Oishi Pillows at the time. But the kid had no idea how online shopping works and that there’s a delivery fee for the item he bought.

So, imagine Andrew’s surprise when the rider arrived with the boy’s order. The snack costs just Php8 but the delivery fee is Php69! Whew.

Note: Huwag ipalaro yung cellphone mo sa pamangkin mo 😑,” Andrew advised.

Netizens had a good laugh over Andrew’s experience, but told him he is still lucky that the kid only ordered some cheap snacks.

Enjoy!” another commented.

How to Avoid Kids’ Accidental Online Shopping Orders

If you let kids use your phone, make sure to logout from online shopping apps and other apps that involve any money or you might be in for a big surprise.

Another option is to hide the apps in a folder; though that’s not fail-safe as kids could still find the app inside the folders! Logging out of the account is still the best option.

Quarantine Project

Netizen Nelo Coloma shared that he always feels amazed every time he enters a hotel room. Because his room at home is really just simple, he had always wished to have a comfortable and nice room to live in.

With that in mind, he always tells himself that one day he will also have a room like that. It might not be the same as a hotel room, but it would at least be something that looks almost like one.

In a series of photos, Coloma shared that before the transformation, he did not mind what curtain his mom would put on the window as long as it keeps the light out. Perhaps he works on a night shift so he has to sleep at day time.

The room was quite disorganized, with things scattered here and there. His clothes are hung on a rack and the room looks rather drab.

At first, he thought of just painting the room on his own but realized that is actually hard work. So, he hired some guys to help him out. First, a white base coat was placed on the walls. Then, most of the walls were painted in dark grayish blue. One side is left in white for effect. The ceiling was also painted in white.

The lights were replaced and mood lights were also added around the room. Instead of tiles, the floor was covered with a nice carpet. The bed was topped with a comforter and some artwork were added on the walls.

A flat-screen TV now occupies one wall and other lovely furniture pieces were added in the room. It’s amazing that the space looks so much different than it had been before, with just some paint and finishing touches! Wow.

DIY Home Renovation

Home renovation projects can be quite expensive, but you could be wasting more money if you do it yourself and you actually have no idea how to do things. It would be a good idea to research on what design you want to copy or make for your house.

Consult an expert, if possible, and hire people to work on more difficult tasks like painting (especially ceilings!) and doing carpentry or masonry work.

Creative Pinoy-Style Birthday Cake Made of Lumpia and Pancit Bihon Goes Viral

A creative Pinoy-style birthday cake made of lumpia and pancit bihon goes viral, with many netizens admiring the brilliant minds who created this delicious ‘cake’.

Creative Pinoy ‘Cake’

During birthdays and other special occasions, Pinoys love to serve various types of pancit dishes, ranging from pancit canton to pancit bihon to other options like pancit Malabon, palabok, and many others. Lumpia is also a popular option, with variations like lumpia shanghai, vegetable lumpia, and fresh lumpia, among others.

Of course, cake is also another a popular item, no matter what the occasion might be!

But a family recently created a mix of everything – a cake that’s made from lumpia and pancit bihon. Wow. Isn’t that delicious and so creative?

On Facebook page Filipino Cooking Group, Mary Jane Quiniones‎ shares their family’s version of the so-called ‘Filipino cake’ made especially for her brother’s birthday.

Shaped like a regular cake, this special ‘Filipino cake’ was made from lumpia sticks wrapped with a ribbon. The inside part is filled with pancit bihon topped with sliced kalamansi, a ‘Happy Birthday’ decoration, and two star-shaped candles.

The striking design looks so creative, but many also admired whoever created this cake. After all, it would surely be difficult to make the lumpia sticks stand up to create the border for the cake while building the cake shape. Moreover, you can’t also just rely on the pancit bihon to hold the shape in the middle if the lumpia borders are not in place.

Many were curious how they made it. In the comments section, Mary Jane explained that she put rice at the bottom of the cake before adding the pancit. That’s likely how she was able to make the pancit bihon hold its shape.

This certainly looks delicious!

Popular Pinoy Foods: Lumpia and Pancit

Lumpia and pancit dishes are popular in the Philippines. Both were introduced early on by Chinese settlers in the archipelago. Despite the Chinese influence, both dishes have evolved over time and are distinct parts of Pinoy cuisine.
