Former OFW Abandons Husband and 4 Kids to Live with Lesbian Partner

We have heard so many stories about families of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) breaking up due to either partners finding a new love and choosing this flame over their families. But though most of the stories involve the husband finding a new woman or the wife finding a new man, there are actually times when the husband or wife finds someone of the same gender!

Such is the problem of Abelardo Galzote Jr. whose OFW wife left him for a lesbian.

Abelardo went to Raffy Tulfo to complain about his wife, Ronelia Galzote. He was accompanied by his mother-in-law, Elena Calixterio, who also called on her daughter to come back to her family.

According to Abelardo, his wife was due to come home next month but they could no longer contact her. They learned that she’s in a relationship with a lesbian who goes by the name Doods Leah on Facebook. Ronelia made a new Facebook account with the name Asawaqu Manasis, sharing photos of her and the lesbian together.

After talking to Raffy, the family was given money for fare back to Ilocos Sur while the show tried to contact Ronelia. Before they reached the bus station, Ronelia sent a message to Abelardo so they can meet the following day at Raffy Tulfo’s show.

At the show, Ronelia strongly denied the relationship with the lesbian but one of the show’s LGBT crew gave ‘expert’ advice, saying that the photos clearly showed there’s ‘something’ going on between Ronelia and the lesbian.

Ronelia apologized to the kids but claimed that she does not want to be with her husband anymore, accusing him of many things; though the kids denied these were true.

After Raffy pointed out that the kids wanted them to get back together, Ronelia finally agreed and the family went back to their hometown while the show’s team promised to follow them so they could formalize the agreement at the family’s barangay.

But even before the team could reach Ilocos Sur a week later, Ronelia left her family again. They could no longer contact her.

The kids later revealed that Ronelia had always been talking to someone on her phone. Heartbroken, Abelardo finally told her to do whatever she wanted to do – and she left.

The kids were broken but the eldest promised to take care of the younger ones, telling them that they could survive without their mother.

Fake UP Summa Cum Laude Becomes Guest Speaker at Graduation

A woman pretended to be a summa cum laude graduate from the University of the Philippines (UP), so she was invited to be the guest speaker at the virtual graduation ceremony of a school in Cavite! Apparently, she used fake documents to back up her claims.

Woman Fakes Summa Cum Laude, Becomes Graduation Guest Speaker

The summa cum laude honor is the highest a graduate could ever receive. So, people are amazed by summa cum laude graduates and view them as an inspiration.

The administration of Ramona S. Tirona Memorial School in Dasmariñas, Cavite invited a woman identified as Kathleen Joy Ravelo Poblete as their graduation speaker last July 15 because she claims to be a summa cum laude graduate from UP.

Poblete also submitted documents to the school to show that she’s a dean’s lister. Other documents also showed that she’s the recipient of the Juris Doctor’s award and was also awarded “Best in Research.”

She also claimed that she’s currently enrolled at the UP Manila College of Law.

As impressive as her claims were, the fake qualifications would soon be discovered by eagle-eyed netizens – and she soon got served with digital karma.

Atty. Rowena Soriano clarified that UP Manila doesn’t have a College of Law – UP Law is in UP Diliman.

The UP Manila Department of Social Sciences also denied affiliations with Poblete, clarifying that they have no records of Poblete ever attending their school. Also, only one person has ever been awarded as summa cum laude from the UP Manila Political Science program – and that’s Ms. Georgina Mia B. Gato in 2019.

The department also clarified that it doesn’t have a College of Law (as stated by Soriano), and doesn’t have a Best in Research award or Juris Doctor’s award.

After the issue went viral, another netizen shared the story of how Poblete used someone else’s identity to date men online! Uh-oh.

What’s a Juris Doctor?

A Juris Doctor is a graduate-entry professional degree in law. A person with this distinction has graduated from law school but hasn’t passed the bar exam yet. Because they aren’t bar-passers yet, they aren’t called “attorneys” and can’t practice as a lawyer.
