The impressive couple hails from San Remigio, Cebu. Identified as Diosdado Cataraja Sr. and Libelita Tauto-an Cataraja, the couple went viral after one of their eight children shared about their inspiring story. Jovy Cataraja-Albite, the eldest of the inspiring Cataraja siblings, posted pictures of her parents plus photos of each of the eight children, with their respective professions.

It amazed at a lot of people that the couple managed to send all their children to school, particularly because a lot of Pinoy parents with many children often ask some of the kids to quit school to help meet the family’s financial needs.

The family’s eight children chose different professions. Jovy is a nurse while the second child is a policeman. One works as architect, another as marine, while another worked as accounting staff. The family also produced as civil engineer, another a seaman, and a teacher! It is really nice that each of the kids chose a different profession from the others.

In a post on Facebook, Jovy shared that she never thought they would see this day when all their dreams will come true, particularly as the family faced a lot of hardships. Growing up, they barely had enough food on the table, but everyone worked hard to help their farmer parents. They also did their best to finish their studies so they could help give each other a better life – and they achieved that goal!

According to Jovy, now that everyone is a professional, it is their time to give back to their parents and to the people who helped them achieve their dreams.

What is a Profession?

A profession is a paid occupation that involves a formal qualification and prolonged training. In the Philippines, the term ‘professional’ is often used interchangeably with a “college graduate”.

Student Goes Viral for Honest Excuse Letter after Not Being Able to Study for Test

For many students, getting high grades is important, particularly if they have strict parents who won’t accept their failing marks! Sadly, there are a lot of students who would go to great lengths to cheat on their exams, just so they could get good grades.

But one student recent went viral for writing an honest excuse letter after not being able to study – and his teacher admired it so much that the note was posted online. Quite amazingly, the note has gone viral and both the teacher and student received admiration from netizens!

Teacher Rinzie Vargas, a Senior High School and College Instructor at ACLC College of Mabalacat, shared a photo of his student’s excuse letter. The teacher admitted that he was rather surprised to see the excuse letter as he really though the student was simply answering the test when he handed it to them.

And while he admired the student’s honesty for writing the excuse letter instead of cheating, saying that he appreciates character and values more than high grades, he would later learn that the student actually met an accident on the day they had the lesson. Thus, he as unable to answer the test because he had no idea what the lesson was all about!

This earned both the student and the teacher admiration from netizens, especially the teacher who readily accepted the student’s heartfelt excuse even if he didn’t know then that the young man had been in an accident.

I was touched and moved about this statement from one of my students, I’m not expecting that he’s going to write this, I thought he’s taking down his answers on our quiz. Thank you for making yourself honest.

‘PLEASE APPRECIATE’ This was the greatest words I’ve ever seen.

Take note, not all of us are getting an appreciation to others. So please even a small thing, try to remind yourself you have to appreciate from it.

Of course, the teacher also warned his students that just because he admired this one and accepted his excuse letter, it does not mean that the others should also follow and simply write him one if they were unable to study.

Let’s just appreciate this post po.

Vargas updated the post, sharing that he had already talked with the student and offered to give him a special exam on the subject. This will give him time to study for the quiz and also let him have a grade for the missed test.

EQ Versus IQ

A person’s emotional quotient (EQ) defines the ability to identify, evaluate, control, and express emotions while the intelligence quotient (IQ) is a score derived from several standardized tests designed to assess an individual’s intelligence. While IQ is definitely important, EQ determines a person’s ability to manage feelings and relationships – and that’s more important in real-life setting.

27-Year-Old OFW Inspires with Photos of House, Farm She Bought after 2 Years Working Abroad

For many overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), their monthly salary while working abroad is just enough to pay for the family’s debts and everyday needs – and some even end up in deeper debt as their families upgrade their lifestyle, thinking that they are now rich because of their OFW family member.

Thus, it is always refreshing to hear stories of OFWs who actually get to pay off their debts, build a house for their family, and invest in a business or other means to grow their money even while working abroad.

On KAMI, the story of a 27-year-old OFW went viral after she shared photos the house and farm she was able to buy in the 2 years that she worked abroad.

The OFW, identified as Charies Joy, works in Saudi Arabia. But in the 2 years that she worked abroad, she was able to build a house and buy a farm for her family. This impressed a lot of netizens who are so used to stories of OFWs becoming deeper in debt and turning to Raffy Tulfo for help against their cheating spouses back home.

Thanks to the efforts of Charies Joy and her honest, loyal husband, they were able to build this beautiful home for their family. Their two children are still young, but they are working hard to provide them a better future.
