Eccentric Millionaire Collects Trash in the Streets, Sells These for $20 a Day

Records show that she owns real estate properties worth over $8 million in Brooklyn, New York but Lisa Fiekowski developed a strange hobby that had her family and friends scratching their heads in disbelief.

You see, despite the money she has as well as holding an MBA, she loves to go around the streets of Brooklyn to collect trash which she sells for around $20 to $30 a day! Why would a millionaire even bother to do that?

I’m an old-fashioned bohemian. To me, what’s sad is New York used to have acceptance of people being eccentric, but now it’s like, ‘Heaven forbid!’” she told the New York Post.

But aside from being called eccentric, Lisa had also been labeled a hoarder – and that’s got a negative connotation, especially in the high-class neighborhood she’s living in.

Parked outside her home is a 1993 Toyota Camry filled with junk. The battered car had seen better years, clashing with the luxury vehicles parked in her Prospect Heights neighborhood.

Even the homes she owned in the neighborhood are described as uninhabitable and were mostly filled with junks of all kinds, ranging from old toys to ancient carpets to broken appliances.

Considering that these properties sit on prime lot, with one estimated to be worth $4 million, it is easily understandable why her family and friends think her ‘hobby’ of collecting trash is bad for her yet Lisa claims that this is keeping her ‘healthy and fit’.

She actually spends several hours a day just walking around to collect trash, something that’s got a lot of people scratching their heads. After all, Lisa holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Chicago University.

It keeps me active. I talk to people in the neighborhood. I guess I was always a recycler. Mostly, it’s physical activity,” she said.

I figure I make a little money at the same time. Keep the neighborhood clean.

But while she keeps the neighborhood ‘clean’, her neighbors aren’t pleased that she’s collecting the trash from the streets, only to keep them at her car and in her properties. A lot have complained about her ‘eyesore’ car and homes.

While she was in California to attend a wedding last month, her neighbors called the NYPD to get her car towed – and it was towed, despite the vehicle being parked legally. They had also reported her dilapidated properties but she claims her neighbors are just being snotty.

People were so upset that this terrible car was in the neighborhood,” she claimed. “It shows you how intolerant that area is.

Chick Hatches from Egg in Fridge, Draws Mixed Reactions Online

Netizens are having a good laugh over photos of a chick that hatched from an egg placed inside a fridge. The chick would go viral, but it would also draw mixed reactions because some netizens believe the photos were fake.

Abi Pajarillaga Gonzales shared photos of the chick on her social media account, sharing that it was her dad who bought the eggs.

“Yung itlog na binili nila Papa naging sisiw na. 😂

Nainitan din yata. Hahaha!

Kaya pala may naririnig ako, hanap ako ng hanap. Sya pala yung nag-iingay.😅😂

Pawis na pawis lang!🤣🤣🤣

The poor chick had a rather traumatic experience in the fridge but was soon rescued after an astonished Gonzales found it inside.

Gonzales explained that her parents bought the eggs for a bargain price, but they didn’t expect that it would have a special surprise inside. Perhaps this was because the eggs were organic?

According to Gonzales, she had cooked some of the eggs the previous night – and these were just eggs! Thankfully, she did not pick this one and the chick was safe.

But many netizens think the photos are fake, saying that one can’t hatch chicks from supermarket eggs. Some people believe she had actually placed native chicken eggs in the fridge and waited for them to hatch. Others also said it was impossible for an egg to hatch after being placed inside the cold fridge.

Gonzales explained that the family is not really using that fridge; that’s why the eggs were not cooled. Because there had been a brownout that day, it was hotter than usual; thus, it was possible that the fridge became its incubator that is why the egg hatched.

In an update, Gonzales shared that the chick is still very much alive and that it had really hatched from a supermarket-bought egg.

Arrangement of Hollow Blocks in This House Construction Sparks Debate

When it comes to building a house or any structure for that matter, we all want it to be durable and built in the best manner to ensure that it would last long, could withstand regular wear and tear, and could possibly survive the forces of nature.

But a house currently under construction has gotten much attention on social media because of the ‘unusual’ arrangement used by the carpenters and masons to build the wall using hollow blocks.

Most of us are used to seeing the hollow blocks placed in alternate position to ensure that the structure will be strong, yet one house in Lagro, Quezon City used a different arrangement – all the hollow blocks were stacked, one on top of the other.

While this created a lovely parallel pattern on the wall, a lot of people could not help but wonder why the builders used this arrangement. Many commented that the builders must be new and didn’t know the proper way to arrange the hollow blocks. A lot of netizens also said that this building is not safe and could easily fall when an earthquake hits the area.

It turned out the arrangement is not as crazy as it might sound as such as being used in countries outside the Philippines! But many netizens pointed out that these countries often used strong cinder blocks. Also, these places are not prone to earthquakes and other natural problems.

But many netizens were more concerned about not finding posts on this house! OMG. It was obvious that the corners of this house were created by the hollow blocks meeting with each other – and that’s particularly dangerous considering this is a large 2-story house.

What were the builders thinking? A stack design for the hollow blocks, in a house with no posts? Uh-oh. This could be a recipe for disaster…

Woman from Dumaguete Predicts Accident Involving White Van and Students on Trip

Remember that young woman from Dumaguete in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, who could supposedly predict future events? She’s gone viral again after making predictions regarding the accident that involved a white van and students on a trip.

Rasha Mae Sarne-Baena was featured on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho for her predictions regarding the incidents in Mindanao as well as in other places that had come true. She posts these warnings on social media – and the event she describes would happen some days later.

Last February 22, Rasha posted on her Facebook group a warning addressed to a group who might be traveling near a school or students going on a field trip in a white van. She ‘sees’ that something terrible might happen and asks them to postpone the trip.

She even messaged a group in La Salle University Ozamis as she had the notion students on a field trip will be involved in the accident.

Nothing happened that day or in the next few days after her ‘prediction’, but exactly a week later, a terrible thing happened just three towns away from Dumaguete City.

On March 1, a van carrying 10 students and their teacher plus other passengers slammed into a truck after the van driver lost control of the vehicle at the slippery road. Five of the students perished while one remains in critical condition. The students all came from Basay National High School and were on their way home after attending a dance competition in Cebu City.

Rasha’s post came back to people’s minds, especially because the van involved in the accident was white – and it had carried students just like she had ‘foreseen’. This is quite creepy…
