Due to Unpaid Rent, Landlady Removes Roof of House Rented by Pregnant Woman

Due to unpaid rent, a heartless landlady removes the roof and even the door of the house rented by a pregnant woman! Kind neighbors had to help her out, especially because it was raining when this happened. Tsk. Tsk.

Unpaid Rent Due to Crisis

The COVID-19 crisis has affected a lot of people, with many losing their jobs and not being able to pay the rent or amortization for their homes. What is sad is that though the government specifically told landlords to provide a grace period for their renters, many still force them to pay up.

There have already been a number of reports of families being forced out of their rented homes because they were unable to pay the rent. But others have a different way of doing it.

One heartless landlady could not forcibly evict her tenants because of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, officially designated as Republic Act No. 11469. However, she did something that is still akin to forcing them out: removing the roof and door of the rented house! Tsk. Tsk.

In a video shared by concerned neighbor Czairra Alliyah Cheng, a family could be seen scrambling to take their things out of harm’s way as the rain poured down inside their house because the roof was gone.

It turned out that the roof was removed by a certain ‘Aling Tess’ who owns the rented house. According to the post by Cheng, the family was unable to pay the rent because the pregnant woman’s husband is stuck by the lockdown and is in Bulacan.

The heartless landlady removed the roof and door, telling Cheng she will also remove her door if she keeps interfering. Cheng and the family already took the matter to the barangay.

Rent Payment in Bayanihan to Heal as One Act

Tenants may enjoy extended deadline to pay rent under the ‘Bayanihan’ law. Under the law, the President is given power to “provide for a minimum of 30-day grace period on residential rents falling due within the period of the enhanced community quarantine, without incurring interests, penalties, fees, and other charges.”

British Guy Living in the Streets after Pinay Wife Allegedly Ran Away with His Money

A British guy is left living in the streets after his Pinay wife allegedly ran away with all his money. The foreigner, now 75 years old, relies on the mercy of Filipinos to have food.

This led to many netizens expressing concern on his well-being and wishing that he can go back to his home country where he might have a better life…

British Guy Allegedly Duped by Pinay

A lot of foreigners move to the Philippines after visiting the country and falling in love with its beauty. But there are also many who did so after falling in love with a local.

Considering that their money has more value in the Philippines, a lot of foreigners are able to buy lots of properties, build plenty of businesses, and own various vehicles. However, this is usually under the name of their Filipino partners because foreigners are not allowed to solely own properties in the country.

This led to many gold-digger Filipinos taking advantage of the law. Apparently, British guy Arthur Ernest is among those who fell under these schemes. According to the locals, he used to own a computer shop at Halang in Canlalay, Biñan in Laguna. However, he was later spotted living in the streets and relying on the kindness of the locals for food.

Many knew that his wife, a certain Elsa Freeman, co-owned the computer shop but they had not seen her since.

Some think she might have passed on but others said she now lives in Canada and has essentially left Arthur after allegedly running away with his money. Though netizens are not sure what really happened between the two, what’s sure is that the British guy is now so poor that he can’t even afford to buy food or medicines for his diabetes.

Can Foreigners Own Property in the Philippines?

According to the law, foreign nationals are not allowed to have outright ownership of real property but only pertains to private land. The Philippine Condominium Act allows foreigners to buy their own condo units, as long as 60% of the building is owned by Filipinos.

Couple Flexes 5-Digit Savings after Choosing to Make All Php50 Bills ‘Invisible’

A couple recently flexed their 5-digit savings after choosing to make all Php50 bills as ‘invisible’. Thanks to their savings, they were able to have enough cash to start building their house. Truly inspiring, huh?

‘Invisible’ Php50 Challenge

It was last year when Kember Flores Casabuena heard about the ‘invisible’ Php50 challenge while watching an episode of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.

At first, Kember put the money inside a shoebox and encouraged her partner, Alphie Castante Olvis, to join her in saving his Php50 bills, too. Kember said that her partner was not so keen on the idea at first but was later encouraged to also add his Php50 bills to the box after seeing her doing this enthusiastically.

Kember and Alphie were so determined to do the challenge that they would really save up all the Php50 bills, even if they receive several bills as change. It was difficult to follow but they aimed to truly make the Php50 bills invisible so they can save up enough money to start building a house for themselves.

As the months passed, their savings filled the shoe box, but they did not think about stopping. So, they bought an empty can of paint to transfer their ‘invisible’ savings.

According to Kember, her partner works as tile setter while she simply stays at home. Yet Alphie’s job is not regular and there were times when he didn’t have any work, but the two chose to live within their means and continued with their savings challenge.

Recently, as the COVID-19 crisis raged, the two faced a lot of financial challenges but they were able to pull through with the other savings they had.

When they finally opened the can filled with Php50 bills, they were so happy to see that the 5-digit savings may already be used to build their own house. It will be a small and simple one but the couple feels happy that they will no longer be renting.

Dialysis Patient Seeks Help after Husband Left Her for Nurse at Treatment Facility

A dialysis patient seeks the help of Raffy Tulfo in Action after her husband left her for a nurse at the treatment facility. What’s really sad is that the nurse had become her friend and she was actually the one who introduced the two!

Nurse Steals Patient’s Husband

Rica De Vera is a patient undergoing dialysis at the hospital where nurse Vera Mae Galang Barrameda used to work. Because Rica regularly goes to the hospital for her dialysis sessions, she befriended many of the nurses there, including Vera Mae.

As friends, Rica often talks to Vera Mae about her husband who’s a seafarer. She feels happy that he supports them and had always been a good husband to her. On the other hand, Vera Mae shared that she’s annulled from her husband who was also a seaman because the latter had lots of women behind her back.

Knowing that Vera Mae had a bad experience with a cheating husband, Rica did not expect that she would actually steal her man! When Niko De Vera, Rica’s husband, was set to go home, Vera Mae requested Rica to ask whether he could her (the nurse) some bra. Niko didn’t mind.

When Niko arrived in the Philippines, Rica introduced the two. She trusts her husband and Vera Mae is her friend. Since Niko was often the one to take her to the hospital for dialysis and treats her to a meal afterwards, she didn’t see nothing wrong in asking him to message Vera Mae for advice on medicines and food she needed as she was feeling weak.

But she didn’t think the two would go and have a relationship behind her back. What’s worse, Niko left her and their kids for the nurse. Rica was able to get her kicked out from her job due to the relationship, but Niko supported the nurse so she could go to the US.

The poor patient had to seek help from Tulfo to find justice against her husband and her former nurse!
