With children spending several hours in school, it but natural that teachers become their second parents. And one teacher has proven that teachers can truly be a child’s second parent when a kid hides behind her back because she, the child, doesn’t want to go to her mother!
The incident happened at Panadtaran Elementary School in Barangay Panadtaran San Fernando, Cebu.
An angry parent called the cops on a teacher at the school for kidnapping – this after the child refuses to go with her but instead hid behind her teacher’s back.
According to the post shared by netizen Kween Sae, the child’s father gave authorization for the kid to be transferred to this school but the mother got angry and wanted to get the child back, to presumably put her in her previous school and be closer with her mother; however, the kid appeared to be scared of her mother.
In the videos that Kween shared, the child looked so scared of her mother that she was crying and hugging her teacher tightly. The kid wouldn’t let go of her tight grip around her teacher’s waist, no matter how the mother tried to pry her hands.
Angered that the child wouldn’t go with her, the mother shouted at the teacher to go away so she can get the kid; when this didn’t work, she forcibly tried to break the child’s tight embrace around her teacher by pulling on the latter, still shouting for the teacher to move.
When this still didn’t work, she called the cops on the teacher and threatened to file kidnapping charges.
Kween angrily slammed this mother for her actions, revealing that she’s the niece of this kind teacher. According to Kween, it was her aunt who stood as second parent to the child and often gives the kid lunch because the mother was irresponsible but now the woman wants the teacher to be stripped of her license!
After seeing the video, netizens took the teacher’s side – after all, if the kid was scared of her mother, then it was but right that the teacher protected her against the woman!
Fake UP Summa Cum Laude Becomes Guest Speaker at Graduation
A woman pretended to be a summa cum laude graduate from the University of the Philippines (UP), so she was invited to be the guest speaker at the virtual graduation ceremony of a school in Cavite! Apparently, she used fake documents to back up her claims.
Woman Fakes Summa Cum Laude, Becomes Graduation Guest Speaker
The summa cum laude honor is the highest a graduate could ever receive. So, people are amazed by summa cum laude graduates and view them as an inspiration.
The administration of Ramona S. Tirona Memorial School in Dasmariñas, Cavite invited a woman identified as Kathleen Joy Ravelo Poblete as their graduation speaker last July 15 because she claims to be a summa cum laude graduate from UP.
Poblete also submitted documents to the school to show that she’s a dean’s lister. Other documents also showed that she’s the recipient of the Juris Doctor’s award and was also awarded “Best in Research.”
She also claimed that she’s currently enrolled at the UP Manila College of Law.
As impressive as her claims were, the fake qualifications would soon be discovered by eagle-eyed netizens – and she soon got served with digital karma.
Atty. Rowena Soriano clarified that UP Manila doesn’t have a College of Law – UP Law is in UP Diliman.
The UP Manila Department of Social Sciences also denied affiliations with Poblete, clarifying that they have no records of Poblete ever attending their school. Also, only one person has ever been awarded as summa cum laude from the UP Manila Political Science program – and that’s Ms. Georgina Mia B. Gato in 2019.
The department also clarified that it doesn’t have a College of Law (as stated by Soriano), and doesn’t have a Best in Research award or Juris Doctor’s award.
After the issue went viral, another netizen shared the story of how Poblete used someone else’s identity to date men online! Uh-oh.
What’s a Juris Doctor?
A Juris Doctor is a graduate-entry professional degree in law. A person with this distinction has graduated from law school but hasn’t passed the bar exam yet. Because they aren’t bar-passers yet, they aren’t called “attorneys” and can’t practice as a lawyer.
