Big Sister Makes Resume, Gives Fare for Girl Envious of Viral FB Siblings

Some weeks ago, a pair of siblings went viral on Facebook after the older brother gave his younger brother Php1,000 as allowance so he could play DOTA all he wants and still have money left for snacks.

In the note he left his younger brother, this kuya even ‘forces’ the younger one to spend all the money in one day because if there’s still anything left, he won’t give the kid any more money in future.

A lot of netizens were understandably envious of this younger brother, saying they wished they had siblings just like this loving, generous kuya. Many tagged their siblings as they shared the viral post.

Princess Johara Narawi seemed to be among those envious of the viral FB siblings but her sister had a more practical approach to granting her wish.

Instead of giving her money to buy what she wants, Princess’ elder sister Merriam Angela Narawi chose to prepare her resume so she can find a job and buy anything she wanted. The note was attached to the resume, with Php20 she can for fare. LOL.

While this was probably a joke between the two, many praised the elder sister for teaching Princess that it is better to find a job and work for something she wanted than to just ask money. Princess was still quite lucky, joke or not, to have a sister like Merriam who will help make her resume and set her up for a better future.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” – Chinese proverb

Do you agree with this elder sister’s way of giving her sister a chance to earn money? I certainly do!

Councilor Fakes Getting Caught by Cops for Sweet Proposal That Surprised His GF

A councilor fakes getting caught by cops for a sweet proposal that surprised his girlfriend. And we can also call him the best actor, huh?

Fake Investigation

When cops arrived at the house of City Councilor Vinchy Aggabao of Santiago City, Cagayan Valley, Philippines, he and his family were puzzled why he was being investigated. The cop said he’s from “the region” and that they have to investigate the councilor’s vehicle after it was involved in something the previous night.

The cop also looked for the councilor’s wife (his girlfriend, actually), Irene, to inform her that they would have to pick up Vinchy for questioning. They also insist on checking his car. Vinchy agreed, but with anger in his voice. How dare these cops accuse him of something? LOL. But it’s all just drama, actually…

To prove that he’s innocent, Vinchy led Irene and the cops to the vehicle to show them that there’s nothing hidden inside that would incriminate him to whatever it is the cops are looking for. But to her surprise, the back of Vinchy’s car was filled with dozens of flowers, some gifts, some of their couple photos, and “Marry Me Irene” in gold letters. Awwww.

She was so scared that there’s something bad going to happen that Irene didn’t know how to react when she saw the surprise. It turned out that almost everyone was in on the surprise as many were already taking a video and smiling even before the ‘big reveal’. Some of their family members were also bring long-stemmed roses and some fruits as gifts for the couple.

Everyone cheered as Irene accepted the ring from Vinchy! What a sweet moment.

The videographers later clarified that the couple actually live together. No quarantine violations were made because the immediate family members seen in the video also lived in the same house.

Quarantine Proposals

Amid the pandemic, a lot of weddings and various events have been postponed. Wedding proposals might be challenging to do but just like Vinchy you can be creative.

Here’s a reminder: Don’t violate quarantine restrictions in your area. Make sure to still follow the rules, because the cops won’t be supportive of your declarations of love if you are violating the law.

Flash mobs are a no-no. This is a good time for private, intimate proposals with your sweetheart and her immediate family. Don’t forget to wear a mask and still practice social distancing.

Barber’s Wife Saves Php217k from Husband’s Tips, Surprises Him During Lockdown

A barber’s wife saves Php217k from husband’s tips and surprises him during lockdown by still having a lot of money despite him not having a job! Isn’t that wonderful?

Saving for the Rainy Days

Sharing her story on Facebook page CFO PESO SENSE, one thrifty wife surprised everyone, not just her husband, after she was able to save as much as Php217k from the tips her husband receives from his work.

According to this wise wife, her husband works as a barber but has a lot of rich clients, including doctors and celebrities. Thus, aside from his usual salary from his job, he also earns extra tips. Each day, this woman’s husband receives as much as Php1,700 in tips alone!

Early into their relationship, they already agreed that her husband gets to keep his salary while his tips go to her. He is responsible for saving for their children’s future while she will budget the tips for their daily expenses.

But this wise woman did not spend all her husband’s money. Instead, she often uses just a small portion and saves the rest; more often than not, she gets to save at least Php1,000 per day. Her husband had no idea that she’s doing this, and he also doesn’t question how she spends his money.

With the huge trust her husband puts on her with regard to spending his earnings, this woman still did not use the cash to buy expensive items for herself and their children.

When the COVID-19 crisis hit the country, her husband was among those who lost their jobs. Barbershops and salons were among the first ones that were closed – and remain closed despite the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in Metro Manila and general community quarantine (GCQ) in many areas.

But the wise woman did not worry. While her husband was not earning money, she was still able to cook delicious foods. After days of enjoying yummy food, the worried husband finally asked where she’s getting her money and was greatly surprised when she showed him a pouch filled with money.

From his tips alone, they counted a total of Php217,000! Wow. What a wise woman. Because she saved their money, they still have plenty to spare despite weeks of no income.

Is Tipping Required?

In place like the US, tipping is expected – even required. But in the Philippines, a lot of Filipinos hold on to every bit of cash and don’t usually give a tip, unless the service was exceptional or the customer is rich.

While tipping is not required, it is still a good idea to give. Since tipping is often not expected, any amount would be greatly appreciated. Some customers simply let the server get change from their payment.

Customer Refuses to Pay after Delivery Rider is 4 Minutes Late, Gives Him Bad Rating

A customer refuses to pay after the delivery rider arrived 4 minutes late – and she even gave him a bad rating! Tsk. Tsk.

Fake Order or Perfectionist Customer?

Lalamove rider Keith De Guzman shared a bad experience he had with a customer who was either a perfectionist customer or had simply made a fake order.

At around 1:50PM on May 18, Keith received the booking from the customer. He immediately went to the pick up area and was at the customer’s gate by 2:24PM.

The customer refuses to pay for the order, telling him that there was a note on the booking, stating that the delivery should be made by 2:20PM. Keith explained that he had immediately gone to the pick up area after receiving the booking. He also apologized for being 4 minutes late, but the woman still refused to pay up.

Then, the customer told him that it would be best if he just eat the food because she can’t pay for it as her dad was the one who was supposed to pay but had already gone out. Keith pointed out that this is a COD order or cash on delivery yet the woman ignored his messages and won’t also pay for the delivery fee!

Frustrated but still polite, Keith urged the woman to come out so they can share the food as he can’t consume everything.

Sige ma’am. Labas na lang po kayo. Wag mo na bayaran. Hati na lang tayo baka di ko po maubos to eh,” he half-joked.

But the woman had the audacity to give him a low rating for the order!

Is COD a Better Option?

For customers, COD is a better option because it allows them to order without much hassle as they don’t have to pay first using online options or bank deposits. However, this has become a big problem for many delivery riders who receive fake bookings or prank orders.
