Woman Shares Video of ‘Plastic Fish’ They Bought from a Taguig Market

It is a known fact these days that a lot of plastics and various trash items have made their way to lakes and oceans, causing problems to the ecosystem and leading to many sea creatures ingesting these, thinking the items are food.

But there’s another way that plastics have affected fish – and this was done in purpose.

May Pineda of Barangay Western Bicutan in Taguig, Metro Manila shared a video of the fish her mom bought from a seller in Signal Palengke (market).

May’s mother found the fish too nice and asked the seller where it came from. After she was told that this came from Navotas which is known for its fish port complex, May’s mother proceeded to buy the fish.

At home, however, she was surprised to find that the fish felt different while she was cleaning one. Upon close inspection, she found that the fish she was holding was wrapped entirely with plastic!

What makes this a bit puzzling is that the plastic wrapping was so cleverly wrapped over the fish that it stuck well to the fish’s skin like cling wrap, yet without creases. If you are not a keen observer or don’t clean the fish well, May and her mother believe you would probably just end up cooking this ‘plastic fish’ without taking out the possibly toxic plastic wrapping.

While the pair did not name the seller as they probably didn’t know that person personally or could remember the stall number, they warn other people to be extra careful when buying fish. And if you end up with the ‘plastic fish’, it would be a good idea to clean it well and remove all plastic materials around the fish!

Better yet, why not return the fish to where you bought them so the seller will know its fake and so you wouldn’t have to eat ‘plastic fish’, huh?

Excessive Drinking of Milk Tea Sends This Lady to the Hospital with Extreme Stomachache

Some weeks ago, a girl from China was hospitalized after hundreds of milk tea pearls were stuck, undigested in her stomach and intestines. But it seems that she is not the only one suffering from ill effects brought by excessive drinking of milk tea.

Jeff Nortez Serrano shared the story of how she was hospitalized due to extreme stomachache from drinking milk tea all the time. She also shared that she loves eating spicy food. The combination of spicy food and milk tea she frequently consumes sent her to the hospital.

According to Serrano, she had enjoyed a cup of milk tea and some spicy food on Sunday afternoon, as was usual to her, when she felt sick that night. On Monday morning, she was already running a fever, but it was only that night that she began experiencing stomach pain.

The pain was so intense and would not go away even with the usual medications she takes for stomachache. She was rushed to the ER where she was given several injections to ease the pain.

At the hospital, she learned that the combination of spicy food and milk tea had nearly put her life in danger. While she was discharged the following day, Serrano was warned not to take these food items again. She was given a strict diet to follow, with lots of forbidden food, to prevent this from happening again.

Though it was painful, Serrano was still thankful that the problem was discovered and her condition treated before her stomach suffered further damage. She’s willing to follow the diet as she does not want a repeat of her experience at the ER.

Pinoy Dad Sells Banana Cakes to Raise Funds Php1.6M for Baby’s Liver Transplant

One of the most heartbreaking things that a parent goes through is seeing their children sick and trying his best to live despite the difficult situation he is in. Many parents wish they could just exchange places with their kids, so the children wouldn’t have to go through the pain.

And most parents would do anything and everything to ensure their kids will be better again.

LITRO (LIver TRansplant Operation) Babies Philippines, Inc. founder Jenny Sumalpong recently shared a heartbreaking photo of a dad who was selling banana cakes at the sidewalk. While it might seem at first that this was just another random street vendor, it turned out this dad was trying to raise Php1.6 million for his baby’s liver transplant.

Baby Aki is just 8 months old but he was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare condition of the liver and bile ducts that occurs in infants. The child needs a liver transplant as soon as possible for him to survive, but this would cost the family Php1.6 million!

Instead of simply asking for help and donations from people, mommy Jabee Imano Galindes and her husband would begin selling banana cakes to raise money for their son’s liver transplant.

Help poured in for the family. A lot of people bought their banana cakes while others even sent other goods like diapers, milk, food, and other things the family needs.

Others also sent money directly to their bank account, even without availing of their cakes. We hope Baby Aki would soon get that life-saving transplant…

Woman Shares Impressive Journey to Losing 20kg in 4 Months

Most of those who tried to lose weight will tell you that doing so is such a difficult thing that they eventually quit trying and decided to simply accept that they would never become as slim as they wished to be!

But one young lady proved that with determination and the right tools, you can achieve anything you wanted, even losing 20kg of extra weight! Whoa. How did she do it?

Pamela Cruz shared her impressive weight-loss journey on Facebook last December 31, narrating how she lost a whopping 20kg of weight in just 4 months. According to the post, a lot of people thought she underwent liposuction because she lost so much weight so quickly.

When she started trying to lose weight, she did it just like everyone else – she went on a diet. She only ate steamed vegetables for 2 weeks. Of course, that would have helped her lose a lot of weight quickly but she became constipated.

After undergoing a medical checkup, she was told that she needed more fiber in her digestive system. So, she went back to eating regular food but changed from white to black rice. She even ate the same viand as before, including canned goods that are supposed to be bad for those who are trying to go on diet.

Unsuccessful with her dieting, she turned to doing cardio exercises. A bit embarrassed to go to the gym as she was overweight, she decided to do the exercises at home. She used the treadmill for 30-60 min daily, for 1 month straight!

After that, though, she had to stop for 2 months as she had to undergo an operation.

By October, finally deciding to be more serious with her weight-loss journey, she enrolled in the gym. It was tiresome and her coaches were sometimes too strict on her but thanks to this, she was able to finally lose her excess weight and achieve the body she wanted!

FYI, hindi po ako nag diet pills, diet shake, protein shake or kung ano man klase ng pampapayat hindi po talaga ako gumamit. Kasi maniwala kayo sa hindi mas nakakataba po yun once tinigil nyo,” she shared.

From 193lbs (87.5kg), Pamela is down to 149lbs (67.6kg)!

In just 4 months, she was able to lose 44lbs (20kg). Her impressive weight-loss journey has inspired a lot of people to also start a membership at the nearest gym!
