Cops built a home for a family living in a shack by a rice field in Eastern Samar. Their kind deed went viral, with netizens hoping that other uniformed officers would also be as kind as these cops.
From Shack to Comfortable Home
The official Facebook page of Quinapondan Philippine National Police (PNP) shared photos of the kind deed done by several officers from their station.
The cops of Quinapondan Municipal Police Station, led by their chief, Plt Ruben G Macawile, built a home for the family of Nanay Milagros Abejo, 78 years old. Nanay Milagros lives with Adelaida Abejo, 18 years old, and Joshua Abejo, 3 years old, right by a rice field at Sitio Tayod, Brgy. San Pedro in Quinapondan, Eastern Samar.
After learning about the family’s difficult situation and the shack they live in, the policemen used their own money to build a better, safer home for the three. They procured coco lumber, bamboo, GI sheets, and other materials the family needed for the new home.
Then, they dismantled the old shack and built the new home on the same spot. This new house has large, sturdy posts made of coco lumber. The policemen also made sure that the frames are sturdy and can support the roof.
After the house was completed, the policemen also provided the family with linoleum they put on the floor for a more comfortable home. They also gave the family some curtains to brighten up their place and make it look pretty. It’s a nice gift from these cops.
“Salamat sa ating mga kapulisan mga frontliners… saludo kami sa inyung kabutihan sa ating kapwa… may god blessed your family… amping kanunay mga frontliners… God will protect all of you… 💖💖💖💟💟💟..” a netizen praised.

45-Year-Old Former House Boy Goes Viral for Graduating Cum Laude from College
A 45-year-old former house boy recently went viral after graduating cum laude from college. His story impressed a lot of people, especially because he defied the odds to fulfill his dreams.
What’s so sweet is that he honors his parents in his post on Facebook, thanking them for the support and encouragement they gave in his life.
Former House Boy Graduates from College
At 45 years old, a lot of people are already working and are even halfway in their careers. In about 20 years more, they will be retiring from their jobs and enjoying the fruits of their labor.
Yet not everyone follows the same career path or the same schedule. There are those who have to quit their studies to find a job to support their families. Though they wish to finish their education on time, many don’t because of the lack of financial capacity.
Guillermo ‘Jun’ Bello Jr., 45, had to quit high school to find a job back in 1990. He became a helper, house boy, and babysitter to help support his parents and siblings. As the years passed, Jun continued to work yet he did not stop dreaming about graduating from college.
Though the dream appears to be more difficult to fulfill as the years passed, Jun did not give up. In 2015, he was given the opportunity to complete his high school degree through the alternative learning system (ALS).
The following year, he was able to enroll at Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology, taking up the course of Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Technology Livelihood Education.
Fast forward to 2020, Jun was able to graduate from college. What’s so sweet about his success is that he was able to graduate with flying colors, earning the honor of cum laude.
What is the ALS Test?
The ALS A&E Test is a test that measures a student’s competencies. Design to gauge knowledge in those who have not finished either the formal elementary or secondary education, the test allows them to move to higher levels without having to go back to a formal school to study for those gaps in their education.
Thus, someone who might have only done grade school in the past could directly go to college if he/she passes the high school level of the ASL A&E Test.

Best Spot for Study Area
The best spot for a study area is somewhere that is cool, comfortable, and quiet. This makes the library as the perfect place. But since libraries are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, your own bedroom would be the perfect choice.
However, because internet or cellular signal is important in most classes these days, the best study spot would really by the one with the strongest signal.
