According to Chuayduang, his daughter began using gadgets as early as age 2. He would let her use his iPad and smartphone for hours on end. Sadly, the kid got would get angry when Chuayduang would get the gadgets; thus, they would often just let her use the gadgets for as long as she wants.

But while the kid would be at peace for hours, she began to develop problems with her eyesight. They noticed that she would squinting her eyes. Then, she developed ‘lazy eye’. This means that one eye does not develop properly; thus, this affected eye relies more on the ‘good’ eye for vision. This leads to one eye, the affected one, becoming ‘lazy’ and would just move in a different direction as the ‘good’ eye.

Even with these vision problems, however, Chuayduang continued letting his kid use gadgets. But as the condition worsened, he finally brought her to an eye doctor.

At the tender age of 4, the kid had to undergo surgery to correct her vision problems. They were told that the child was close to getting blind! Thankfully, it was not too late for the kid.

But Chuayduang hopes that this would be a lesson for other parents so their kids won’t have to undergo the same experience as his daughter.

High-Tech Camera Shows Just What Happens to Instant Noodles Inside Your Stomach

A lot of us are fond of instant noodles, not just because these are easy to prepare but also because you can easily stock the uncooked packs for long periods of time – and the cooked noodles are quite delicious, of course!

But did you know that constantly eating instant noodles is actually bad for your health?

Yes, instant noodles are cheap and good to eat but you will be surprised at what actually happens inside your stomach when you eat this food item.

Dr. Braden Kuo of Massachusetts General Hospital decided to conduct an experiment to see just what happens inside your stomach after you eat instant noodles. To achieve this, he let the test subjects swallow a pill-sized camera after eating noodles.

Aside from the test subject who ate instant noodles, Dr. Kuo also made another test subject eat freshly prepared noodles.

While he expected that the instant noodles would be processed much slower than freshly prepared ones, Dr. Kuo was shocked to discover that there was a striking difference at the time interval the two different noodles were processed by the stomach.

In the interval of less than 2 hours, less processed noodles were broken down by the stomach as compared with the freshly prepared noodles. While the freshly prepared noodles were nearly fully digested after 2 hours, the instant noodles still appeared mostly intact within that same time frame.

But that was not the only shocking thing about this experiment.

Dr. Kuo discovered that after 32 hours, a lot of the instant noodles remained undigested!

What we’re seeing here is a stomach contracting back and forth as it’s trying to grind up the ramen noodles,” he explained, pointing to the video.

Thanks to Dr. Kuo’s experiment, a lot of people were warned about the dangers of eating instant noodles and other processed food, especially on a regular basis.

Tertiary-butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ), a preservative also found in biodiesel and perfumes, is used in instant noodles. It is believed that this is the main reason why the instant noodles were more difficult to digest.

Instant noodles also contain propylene glycol as well as high amounts of sodium and monosodium glutamate (MSG).

Would you still eat instant noodles after watching this? Surprisingly, many would answer with a big “Yes!”

Impressive Doctor Completes 9 Surgery Appointments Despite Suffering Great Pain

We often take doctors for granted, expecting them to attend to our needs ASAP and forgetting that they are human beings, too, who also get tired and even get sick.

A doctor in Si County, Anhui Province, China recently went viral after completing nine surgery appointments despite suffering from great pain.

Dr. Liang Fuqun awoke one morning with sharp pain on his abdomen but instead of getting himself treated first, he decided to get on with the day to complete his appointments.

It turned out that there had been a power outage the previous day at their department, affecting the schedules. Knowing his patients needed him, the dedicated doctor put his own health problem on hold while he focused on theirs.

There was a power outage in our department, so there were a lot of surgeries lined up yesterday. We doctors can’t afford to get sick. If we get sick, then the patients have to wait. I often worry about the patients. I just wanted to complete these surgeries and help them recover faster,” he revealed.

With the great pain he was feeling, Dr. Liang asked his supervisor Dr. Shi to accompany him as precaution.

During the third operation, Dr. Liang felt a sharp pain in his abdomen yet he focused his energy on his patient. At one point, he took a short break to squat in a corner in an attempt to ease the pain before asking a nurse to inject painkillers to his backside.

It was only after he completed the nine operations that he received an ultrasound. According to World of Buzz, Dr. Liang had to operated immediately as he was suffering from acute appendicitis, with his appendix just about ready to burst.

By the time we opened him up, there was already pus oozing out. His appendix was about 10cm long, almost as thick as my thumb,” his supervisor revealed.

Thankfully, the operation was a success.
